- Loosen up the four hood hinge bolts and open hood and then loosen up the front latch bracket bolts. Please note, Front latch brackets have a witness mark on frame for production location.
- Open and close hood a few times. (with hinges loose the hood will be difficult to open, may need to lift on outer edges of hood) keep body line gaps at 8 mm to give clearance for windscreen.
- Hood closed tighten the hinge bolts first final torque is 18 ft. lbs., then open hood and tighten front latch brackets.(secure latch when tightening bolts to final torque of 18 ft. lbs. so they do not move).
- Close hood and test, if it does not latch, attempt to adjust front latches. However do not loosen the hinge.
Tip when hood release is depressed, verify all hood latches release at same time. All hood latches releasing at same time is a good indicator latch brackets are set in correct location. Occasionally after following above procedure when lifting hood one of the rear latches will catch and not open properly. To address this issue, loosen up the four hood hinge bolts and increase the 8mm body line gaps by pulling hood forward.
